Wednesday 17th of November, there was a virtual workshop concerning hate speech, fake images and propagada. Obviously, this is very related to our current, temporary exposition #FakeImages. Kazerne Dossin has therefore put its shoulders to the wheel for this workshop.
The virtual session discussed the use of antisemitic speech and propraganda during and before the Holocaust. Images from #FakeImages were used for illustration purposes. Other recent examples were also discussed, such as the genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda (1995). Of course Dr. Veerle Vanden Daelen (Belgian delegation IHRA and Deputy General Director, Director Collections & Research) could not be missed here. Together with Wichert ten Have (IHRA advisor) and expert Hélène Dumas, she ensured the realisation of this workshop.
This international meeting was given in the light of Global Action Against Mass Atrocity Crimes (GAAMAC). Boundaries were thus shifted literally and figuratively.
