Travelling exhibition: Children in hiding

Many Jewish children managed to escape the Holocaust. The ‘Children in Hiding’ travelling exhibition gives pupils the opportunity to discover how this was made possible.

Please note: This tour is only available in Dutch and French.

The exhibition tells the stories of children who survived the war, with the help of the organised resistance and their parents. More than half of Jewish children under the age of fifteen escaped the deportations. Many of them were orphaned during the war.
The exhibition consists of fifteen banners that you can easily set up yourself at school. The accompanying series of lessons will give your pupils an insight into the dilemmas people struggled with and the choices that perpetrators, victims and bystanders were faced with. They can then compare this to moral dilemmas in their own lives.

Teaching materials

The exhibition is accompanied by an educational pack containing activities to be completed before, during and after the visit. These assignments are tailored to the third stage of secondary education and vary according to the educational target.
