Kazerne Dossin continues to passionately search for and identify new portraits.
Portraits of Holocaust victims who were deported from Mechelen are added to the commemoration wall of the museum each year. Last year, Kazerne Dossin received and identified 210 new portraits for the commemoration wall and 78 photos of Jews deported from France to Belgium for the digital monument. During the annual Portrait Ceremony, the recently discovered photographs of deportees are shown and their names read out.
In the meantime, we continue the quest. 4 out of 5 victims deported via the Dossin Barracks have already been given ‘a face’.
