On Tuesday 27th January Bart Van Nuffelen and Lucas Derycke will introduce ‘The Art of Disappearing’ during a unique live performance at the Arenbergschouwburg theatre. Following the success of the first performance at De Roma (cultural centre), they are now relating the story free of charge on the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Bart narrates and music by Tom Pintens is performed live by musicians Pascal Deweze, Gerrit Valckenaers, and Hans De Prins.
The first season, which won several awards, was listened to by more than 300,000 people. For the second season Bart and Lucas went in search of a long forgotten past. Historian Dorien Styven (Kazerne Dossin) spoke with the son and two grandchildren of Fred Kader, one of the main characters from the first season. These encounters brought new family history to light and deepened the story, which was further developed in season 2.
