Free guided tours for Museum Pass holders – Sports and Sportspeople in KL Auschwitz

In September, the Museum Pass celebrates its seventh anniversary. To mark this occasion, and as the exhibition is nearing its end, Kazerne Dossin is offering Museum Pass holders free guided tours of Sports and Sportspeople in KL Auschwitz.

Until 10 December 2025, Kazerne Dossin presents this temporary exhibition, which sheds light on the little-known story of sports in the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. The exhibition shows how sport became both a means of survival and a tool of oppression.

A unique perspective on the Holocaust through sport

Sport and a concentration camp – how can the two be reconciled? Which promising athletes were deported from the Dossin Barracks? Which sports were played by prisoners in Auschwitz? During the tour, your guide will answer these questions and explore the role and the power of sport under extreme circumstances.

The exhibition was created by the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum on the basis of its archives and collections, and was supplemented with Belgian stories by Kazerne Dossin.
