Audio monument ‘Every name matters’
Between 1942 and 1944, 25,843 Jews, Sinti, and Roma were deported from the Dossin barracks.
Between 2023 and 2026, all 25,843 names were recorded by a unique voice in the recording studios at Kazerne Dossin.
In the very place where their names were taken away, together we gave them back.
The recordings, totaling more than 50 hours of audio, can now be heard in the memorial of Kazerne Dossin. Together, they form an audio monument to commemorate the deportees and to emphasize that behind the numbers lie human beings, each with their own face and their own story.
The names of all 25,843 deportees will resound starting 30 October 2026 in a new audio monument. Visit it for free in the memorial of Kazerne Dossin.
